JOB DESCRIPTION: Contract through July 2021 Remote Overview: Securian is looking for a DevOps Engagement Lead to drive the maturity of DevOps methodologies and practices for Agile teams as part of our Agile Transformation. As a DevOps Engagement Lead, you will be an integral part of Securians outcomes for improving the speed and quality of software delivery. This includes: Identifying approaches for baselining key DevOps metrics contributing towards overall Agile team effectiveness Working with business and technology leadership to identify and deliver on target improvements Leading developers and engineers in understanding and applying industry best practices and methodologies, as well as how to best use modern DevOps and cloud technologies Leading development teams in refactoring principles, code branching techniques, release management techniques, test automation, and how to apply feedback to further improve software delivery Drive DevOps related deliverables and outcomes within the Agile Transformation Securians Enterprise Technology organization is transforming and modernizing the way we deliver value for the organization. This role is at the intersection of the various transformational efforts for Agile, DevOps, Cloud, and Data. What you would do in this job: Identify approaches for baselining DevOps metrics, including lead time for changes, deployment frequency, change failure rate, and meantime to restore service Work with Agile team leadership to identify target improvements for the DevOps metrics Drive the delivery of target improvements in partnership with the Agile team leadership, identifying and helping to clear roadblocks as necessary Indirectly lead the DevOps CoE team towards ensuring measurable improvement targets for Agile team effectiveness are achieved Provide consulting and expertise for developers and engineers on the following to meet target improvements for software delivery: Understanding and applying DevOps industry best practices and methodologies How to best use modern DevOps and cloud technologies Refactoring approaches and principles Release management and code branching techniques Test automation techniques and best practices Identify gaps and challenges in meeting DevOps outcomes, addressing them if possible and engaging leadership as appropriate What wed expect from you: Experience leading teams in adopting and applying DevOps best practices and methodologies Practitioner experience with DevOps pipeline technologies for software delivery such as GitHub, Jenkins, Docker, Rollout, Jira, Sonar, SourceClear, Puppet Knowledge of/experience with running applications on AWS and related cloud technologies such as EC2, VPC, EKS Experience with Agile Scrum approach to development Experience with refactoring Java applications or leading teams in refactoring Java applications Independent and self-directed individual, resiliency in the pursuit of outcomes Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to clearly convey complex messages to bridge technical and non-technical audiences   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
