Description:

This position is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and configuring projects related to the support of the DOCs Health and Behavior Solutions Electronic Medical Record (EMR). This position serves as a member of the of the EMR Core Team staff, which includes Department employees from the Bureau of Health Services, the Bureau of Technology Management, the EMR Project Office, staff from the other program divisions, and the EMR private vendor. This position works closely with the BHS laboratory group to help identify areas of optimization and improved business processes for nursing workflows within the EMR. This position will also execute build and testing required for the delivery of effective EMR optimizations and upgrades. This position supports ancillary systems required for laboratory workflows and will work directly with multiple vendors to troubleshoot as needed.

Job Details:

Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application. The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.

The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency to employment. Applicants who fail or refuse the drug screen will not be given further consideration for employment.

Qualifications:

Minimally qualified applicants will have experience:

• Maintaining Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software and/or vendor managed software, performing activities such as maintenance, upgrades, and configurations.

• Communicating software configuration with external clinical stakeholders (nurses, nursing assistants, chief nursing officers, physicians, etc.).

• Working with external stakeholders to identify process improvements and optimizations.

• Existing knowledge of clinical lab workflows.

• Experience with HL7.

• Experience in Agile environment and System development.

• Ability to work with cross functional teams.

• Experience with SQL.

In addition to the above, well qualified applicants will have experience:

• Working in government or correctional environment.
