Under general direction, debugs complex software components through the use of systematic tests to develop, apply and maintain quality standards for company products with a focus on automated testing. Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software. Analyzes test results to certify existing functionality and integrations and recommends corrective action upon failures. Works directly with development engineers to resolve problems. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Prepares reports and documentation updates. May take part in researching best practices, new tools and technology. Testing will include functional, integration, performance, regression and sanity testing. The right person for this role has experience with the following: - Hands-on experience with highly scalable distributed systems using open source tools during the full software lifecycle (design, build, test, deploy, support). - Strong software engineering fundamentals: OO design, code reviews, functional, system, and performance testing. - Building and/or testing large-scale data processing systems with extensive knowledge in data warehousing solutions. - Experience working in a fast moving and innovative agile team that delivers value frequently - Leading quality and testing efforts for a team working in an agile environment Skills and Experience Necessary for the Role - Strong OO software development skills and experience with automating big data and reporting use cases - One or more big-data infrastructures such as Hbase, Hadoop, Mongo, Casandra, or RDBMS. - Knowledge of the following technologies or concepts: GoodData, ElasticSearch, SQL, Amazon Web Services, Data ETL and data modeling, Modern build tools like Maven/Jenkins/Github, Agile development methodology, open source test tools such as Selenium WebDriver/TestNG/Junit/jmeter, Linux   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
