The person(s) in this position will provide support to the users in the various health departments at the County. In addition to aforementioned, the person must be familiar with HIPAA regulations. Essential Functions: Applies structured analysis to analyze information processing: meets with end-users to determine desired outcomes and system requirements; reviews standards and procedures; tests, troubleshoots and resolves issues with application and system functionality. Provides information system user support to County employees, including desktops, laptops and peripherals to assigned departments: identifies and resolves problems to restore service to user in a timely and efficient manner; ensures that computer equipment and operations comply with applicable policies, procedures, and rules. Conducts initial research on end-user problems regarding hardware and software by identifying and evaluating the problem, troubleshooting, facilitating suitable solutions, documenting the resolution, notifying the end user, and closing out the helpdesk ticket; escalates problem to vendors or other personnel as appropriate; utilizes diagnostic tools and other resources as appropriate. Installs and maintains personal computer hardware/software: assures availability and proper operation of products for installation; tests installed products per department standards; completes installations and conversions in timely manner and with minimal disruption to customer. Maintains confidentiality of client and departmental information; comply with HIPAA standards; support various health information systems Minimum Requirements Education: Associate Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field (preferred) Experience: Strong knowledge of the Windows desktop operating system environment (Windows 7/8/10) as well as PC applications such as Word, Excel, and Access is required. Two years of experience in a computer support role with knowledge of computing hardware, software, voice/data cabling, and/or desktop implementation/support preferred.
