This is a 6+ month assignment position and the pay rate is flexible depending on experience. Here are the details: Position: Sr. Security Engineer Location: Montpelier, VT Duration: 1+ month assignment Salary: Negotiable depending on experience Job Description: The position of Security Network Engineer requires a strong knowledge of the following areas: Knowledge of leading technologies such as Check Point, Cisco, F5, Windows and Linux based operating systems in a highly virtualized environment is preferred. The Security Network Engineer works closely with the Information Systems Security team, Telecommunications Engineer, Network and Server/Desktop Engineers to design and implement computer networks which meet internal and external constituent needs. Primary responsibilities include integration of computer and network systems into the network, extended network (private/hybrid cloud) and worldwide Internet access. Provides complex, high-level technical support for computer and network systems, and carries out novel and/or complex assignments requiring the development of new and/or improved techniques and procedures. This position is responsible for upholding a secure environment by abiding by State and Federal regulations as well as corporate defined Information Security policies and standards to comply with HIPAA, CIS Benchmarks and ISO 27000. This role is responsible for supporting and maintaining network and security appliances and systems implemented within the Company infrastructure. In addition to providing customer support for both internal and external users, this position is responsible for providing escalation support, such as defining and implementing policy changes to security control rulesets, troubleshooting network and security systems, and other related tasks as necessary to support the operation of the end client. Skills and Requirements: A bachelors degree in computer science field or equivalent is required. 5+ years of network experience including Cisco and/or Check Point equipment. Additionally 5+ years of experience working with network and security concepts, including design and installation. Consideration will be given to candidates who possess certifications such as CISSP, CCSA/CCSE, CCNP with a strong focus on good information security practices.
