Description: Our client, a Global Financial Services Institution is looking to bring on a Data Pipeline Engineer for a long term contract in one of their downtown Chicago locations! This resource will be joining the Enterprise Data Governance team helping to build and maintain a platform while also Engineering. A description can be found below. Description: Responsible for maintaining the data governance\quality tools by providing technical insight, support & monitoring for the data quality systems by partnering with the business, technology and the Enterprise Data Governance teams. Support the establishment of policies, standards and processes that will be developed and maintained to support the data governance platform To utilize tools to support/maintain the existing data quality systems Duties: Maintain the Information assets in the metadata catalog through updating exiting sources and adding new sources as they are requested Assess, manage & maintain the information assets within the governance catalog that will reduce data redundancy and increases both the consistency & confidence of metadata used for decision making Work with data owners to implement data quality rules in upstream systems and the data quality tool Migrate data quality project work between environments to business requirement Integrate new data source technologies into the governance catalog Build Analytic data Pipelines Skills: Command lines skills in windows and in Unix Background in BI(PowerBI) SQL Query development and performance tuning Strong command of the implementation and administration of Data governance tools such as InfoSphere Information Governance Catalog. Data quality tools such as InfoSphere Information Analyzer. ETL tools such as InfoSphere DataStage or similar Basic understanding of financial concepts, including currency, securities, holdings, accounts, positions, tax lots Basic understanding of statistical models Ability to discuss data abstractions (entities, attributes, tables, columns, documents, and sematic relationships between entities) with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Ability to discuss technical abstractions (server, service, repository, patterns, queries, streams, queues, etc. ) with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Understanding of MDM systems in regards to data quality Experience: Maintaining and supporting data governance and data quality solutions, including (2 years) Metadata Repositories Data Glossaries (terms, sources, semantics) Data Quality tools, workflows and solutions Building Analytic Data Pipelines (2 years) Implementing data lineage solutions (2 years) Implementation using IBM Infosphere Information Server Platform (1 year) Experience in building pipelines to NoSQL systems Experience in building ETL jobs preferably in python RDBMS Database systems: Oracle, DB2, SQLServer, MySQL Knowledge in NoSQL/Cloud: MarkLogic, MongoDB, CosmosDb, Casandra, DynomoDB Knowledge of cloud computing services such as Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Worked with Machine Learning systems such as Watson Likes to have: Javascript Education: Bachelors Degree, Computer Science Softskills: Small Project Management Communication Skills Stake Holder Management Requirements Gathering Translating business requirements into technical design Soft skills - schedule and facili   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
