This position is responsible for evaluating and selecting the team, assigning work and supervising the team; acting as the project manager for the team, providing technical guidance to the team, and leading and managing the team responsible for internal system readiness, interfaces, reports, and testing. This position is responsible for developing the detailed project plan, work breakdown structures, project checklists, staffing plan and budgets to meet established time frames. The position will coordinate project activities for adherence to project plan and goals; monitor results against established timelines, deliverables, tasks, dependencies and associated technical specifications; prepare comprehensive supporting plans in the areas of quality control, risk management, change management, testing and other associated project management areas; manage the project development process to include monitoring the project scope and change control processes; perform work in association with industry recognized standards, guidelines and practices; and adhering to established policy and procedures with respect to project management Required Skills: The ideal candidate will have an extensive supervisory and management experience working with IT software projects and teams; with a proven record of supervision, planning, delegation and leadership which promotes a productive team environment. * Minimum (7) yrs of extensive hands-on Project Management or Project Lead exp * The ability to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent activities with full accountability and financial responsibilities * Knowledge of Project Mgmt processes, procedures, documentation, and reporting criteria; knowledge and demonstrated ability to conduct detailed planning, and perform risk assessments and their associated risk mitigation actions; and knowledge of related IT standards and software * Prior experience managing Medicaid projects, preferably in ICD-10, 5010, MSIS, and Pilot T-MSIS/T-MSIS * Technical hands-on expertise in Data warehouse, BI Reporting and Analytics with technologies such as Base SAS and tools, Cognos, Oracle, FTP methodologies, and data extraction * Experience in resource management * Strong understanding of a HIPAA transaction set (5010) and ICD-9/ICD-10 code sets in Medicaid claims processing system * Excellent oral communication, technical writing and documentation skills with the ability to translate technical concepts, information, plans, and procedures to both technical personnel and non-IT business users * Possess people mgmt skills with an ability to use diplomacy and to maintain pleasant working relationships with clients, management, end users, and project team members * Vendor and contract management experience - preparing procurement documentation, negotiation, and managing project vendors * Strong analytical skills with to quickly evaluate all facets of a situation or problem, determine viable alternatives and implement the best solution * Presentation and Training skills Desired Skills: * PMP/ITIL * Project management experience in North Carolina State government projects   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
