Our client is looking for a Senior Azure Cloud Solutions Architect to fill a 6 month contract to full time/perm position. Key Accountabilities: Engages with IT Business Partners and key business stakeholders to understand the business objectives and priorities, strategy and plans, supporting business architecture and required capabilities Provide consultation with multiple company application teams throughout their journey to the cloud, providing cloud expertise and solutions to architect and enable the business transformation in the cloud. Assess, design, and develop solutions for both cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments. You will also interact and support diverse IT workloads, including Business Intelligence, Big Data, transactional systems, web applications and many others. Your challenges will include learning and adopting fast changing cloud technologies, meeting various business demands and priorities, understanding and choosing architecturally sound solutions from a library of prebuilt patterns and strategic cloud hosting providers, as well as influencing our cloud reference architecture patterns Ability to holistically conceptualize and model the use of evolving technologies across a broad set of business applications to translate business strategies and requirements into technical design and engineer a solution to meet the business demands Attains and maintains a solid understanding of the end to end business application processes and provides input into application roadmaps including recommendations of IT driven projects Develops and provides technical direction for the design of complex and large-scale systems solutions to effectively meet business needs. Partners with the Enterprise Architecture team on the creation of the conceptual architecture that addresses the high-level business requirements. Develops Solution Architecture for applicable programs/projects that address key business needs. This includes the analysis and recommendation of technical solution alternatives based on variances of scope, budget, and time including negotiating complexity and driving economically viable solutions Recommends IT driven initiatives to enable key technical characteristics (Availability, Recoverability, Scalability, Performance characteristics, etc.) of business applications/services. Assists and advises project teams in the configuration, testing, implementation and support of technical solutions. Authors complex macro level technical designs that define how the functional requirements will be technically including consideration for: Performance, Security, Availability, as well as Operations, Monitoring and Support. Knowledge of and ability to apply data, security and information standards in Nation Grids global applications. Includes the ability to identify the need for additional standards to meet business requirement for integrated information across the Company. Regularly evaluates cloud applications, hardware, and software and provide improvement strategies and plans. Works closely with IT security to monitor the companys cloud security standards (SOPs). Be proficient with influencing cross-functional teams as well as have executive communication skills to present to team IT Leadership, Business partners and industry experts. Partner with domain leaders and IT business partners to drive cloud adoption in our application portfolios leading with Internal/External PaaS/IaaS technologies based on business requirements and ROI.
