Successful candidates must have an obsessive focus on automation and building repeatable solutions – Experience with Websphere App Server (must have), Tomcat, JBoss, Openshift. SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: •Containerize existing on-prem applications running on WebSphere Application Server, JBoss, Tomcat. Configure and deploy applications preferably using Docker on Google Cloud Platform and other cloud platforms. Must have experience with GCP, other platforms AWS, Azure, Openshift is a plus. •Must have had prior experience installing and configuring WebSphere Application Server on clustered environments, Tomcat, JBoss software on Linux based environments. Implement systems including fault tolerance and high availability solutions. •Hands on and strong experience with scripting with Python, Jython, PHP, Shell. •Experience configuring Security as required (SSL, single sign-on, administrative, application, etc.., Webserver (IIS, iPlanet, IHS) software plug-in components, Application requirements (SIB – JMS/Web Services, JDBC). •Deploy applications to the Application server as well as define and set up automated application deployment mechanisms. Performance tune and optimize the containers. •Research and troubleshoot problems related to the Application server software, the applications that run on them as well as the external systems that they interact with. •Communicate regularly and effectively with various cross functional and technology teams (app dev, deployment, testing, project). POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Qualifications / Skills Requirements: •5+ years of IT experience working with Application Servers such as Websphere, Weblogic and Tomcat. Must have strong experience with Websphere. •2+ years of DevOps or Cloud Infrastructure experience. •Experience creating automation scripts using Python, Jython, Perl/Bash or PHP. •Experience with administering WebSphere Application Server 8.x. •Experience working with containerized applications (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). •Experience with Json, YAML, Cloud Formation and Deployment Manager(GCP). •Experience with Code, Configuration and Build management tools such as GIT, Concourse, Ansible and Jenkins is preferred. •Operating Systems: Suse /RedHat Linux, Ubuntu. •JEE development experience is a plus. •Ability to multi task.
