Job Summary The primary responsibility of this position is to install, configure and maintain the Java EE application servers (Tomcat, Weblogic, Jboss, Oracle Application Server) and web server (apache, iplanet, Oracle HTTP Server) environment running on (LINUX or UNIX), servers for computer systems used in the organization, in support of business processing requirements. Job Responsibilities Provides technical support and is responsible for the implementation of the technical architectural design, strategies and plans that will be a delivered on an ongoing basis. Responsible for ongoing support of Middleware infrastructure. Performs necessary systems maintenance in accordance with software supplier best practices and Company change management policies. Executes system migration as required. Develops documentation for design, practices and administrative activities Responsible for on-going recommendations and best practices, as applicable, for Business Continuity and High Availability. Supports Capacity Planning and Disaster Recovery Planning and design as applicable. Provides support for ITIL Process Planning as applicable. Recommend changes to procedures which result in operational optimization Participate in Root Cause Analysis reviews when applicable. Rotational 24x7 On-Call Support Performs software installations, patching and upgrades to Java EE application servers running on different operating systems (Linux or Unix). Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels. Supports the Java EE application server, web servers and related infrastructure by resolving problems in a timely and efficient manner. Act as a key contributor in automation and introduction of new middleware platforms and related technologies Basic Qualifications: Bachelors degree & 2 years of IS experience AND 3 years experience administrating Java EE application servers (WebLogic, Tomcat, Jboss, Oracle Application Server) and Web Servers (Apache, iPlanet, Oracle HTTP Server) on different operating systems (Linux or UNIX). Must be familiar with using tools to monitor the internal performance, health and diagnostics of the servers/clusters and Java EE server instances Experience in developing in Java, Python, Jython, Perl and UNIX Shell scripting. Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle and Source Code Repository Tools (e.g. SVN) Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager for middleware monitoring, patching, provisioning Experience with HP Automation Products (DMA, Opsware, Operations Orchestration) Experience with Continuous Delivery, Process and Tools. Automated deployment utilities (e.g. ANT, Maven, WLST) Integration with Single Sign On (Siteminder), SSL enabled Web Tier Experience with design or integration for building highly available systems (e.g. WebLogic cluster, Oracle RAC, Multi Master setup, F5 Network Load Balancer) A basic knowledge and understanding of operating systems, network storage and database environments (e.g. Oracle RAC).
