They are always thinking a couple of steps ahead of the team. They are predicting pitfalls, and analyzing risks. They are presenting solutions to problems before they occur. At the same time, this person is tactical in their daily activities. This person is willing to pitch in and help drive the team to the next level. This person is able to understand how a lot of different people contribute to a project. He/she may not be able to do every role, but can articulate the activities of an analyst, an architect, an engineer, the Customer, etc. Bonus: It would be helpful if this person has worked in an Agile environment, and helps a team understand how to be more agile.
