Business Analyst discusses existing business models and the flows of data in the business with those involved in a given project. Using a variety of technical and presentation tools, draws up specifications for possible improvements and produces outline designs of new or existing systems for others to develop and build. The Business Analyst specifies the data, files and logical operations (business logic) the system will perform as well as the way data will be viewed by the user (user interface, data mapping). Additionally, the Business Analyst may be involved in project pre-planning as well as overseeing project implementation. Essential Job Responsibilities: · Formulate and define Business Architecture for Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) projects · Formulate and define Business Case and Pricing Models · Formulate and define internal processes using industry standard process models · Formulate and define Project Feasibility Studies for pipeline projects · Formulate and define Use Cases for portfolio projects · Formulate and define Requirements Traceability Matrix for portfolio projects · Formulate and define Reporting Dashboards for executive status · Formulate and define long range planning documents · Create collateral such as white papers, reference docs, user guides, brochures, etc in support of the products and solutions · Document functional requirements and determine complexity of work for applicable portfolio projects · Work with Solutions Consultants and Solutions Architects to create proposal documents and requirements templates in the PMO pre-planning phase · Provide analysis to resolve production issues · Support and/or perform User Acceptance Test (UAT) · Support “Clients” during POC release phase · Assists with training support staff on product solutions · Interface with internal and external clients · Participate in product demos · Assist with mentoring and advising less experienced Business Systems Analysts in requirements process Required Qualifications: Education: · Bachelors Degree required; preferrably in Business Administration or Computer Science. Masters Degree preferred. Job Related Experience: · Five or more years working in a business analyst/consulting role with a Bachelors Degree; Three or more years working in a business analyst/consulting role with a Masters Degree · A solid understanding of the methodologies surrounding the SDLC · A solid understanding of Project Management · A working knowledge understanding of web-based and middleware technologies (.Net, J2EE, XML, Webmethods) · Proficient in use of Visio, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
