Job Description Engineer: DB2 Experience, Server Administration, JBoss, Websphere Linux System Administration

Responsibilities:

Ensures adherence to established technology standards and consults with senior leadership to deploy technology solutions. Supports existing systems and is responsible for leading technical aspects of a project. Position will be responsible for installing and supporting SLES and Red Hat Linux. Performs additional job duties as required. Leads complex projects and issues within functional technical area and cross functional area Works independently with IT functional units and business units. Recommends strategies for technical aspects of projects as well as broad system improvements, with a focus on Linux Systems.

Candidate Requirements

Expert in: SuSE and Red Hat Linux)operating systems, and HP BladeSystems
o In-depth knowledge of Linux operating system functionality, kernel tunables, file systems, server hardware, and installation processes
o Proficient VMWare ESX\Virtualization Technologies (ESX 5.0 or greater, Virtual Center, P2V tools)
o Knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, shell scripting, automation
o Deep working knowledge of NFS and NAS storage systems

Understands complex technical requirements, service impact, and business issues facing internal and external clients.
5+ years related Server administration experience, over 3 of it specific to supporting. General IT experience required.
Exceptional Unix skills (command line & otherwise) required.
Strong team player
Must be able to install and support Linux Systems in Oracle and/or DB2 environment
Must be able to install and support Linux Systems in WebSphere and JBOSS environment
Candidate must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
A strong background with backup systems, both hardware and software is required. Experience with Symantec Netbackup. Familiarity with SAN-based and IP-based backup solutions.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in HP Server Automation (SA/OpswareO
5+ yrs. of related technical experience.
Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience.
Appropriate Certifications.
Experience in DNS and VLANs, and Active Directory
Working knowledge of system life cycle, Netbackup, EMC and IBM SAN, JBOSS, Apache, Oracle and DB2.
Experience in HP C7000 Enclosures and blades.
Experience with Unix Shell Scripting.
Proven analytical skills in previous technical roles
Deep understanding of all computer system layers
