This will involve assessing existing API management tools, identifying new and missing components, and developing and implementing a migration plan to modernize an existing API gateway environment. Individual should have a holistic view of enterprise solutions and be able to work with existing legacy or brownfield APIs as well as greenfield, taking into consideration governance, security, and application development. Candidate for this position must be able to play both the role of architect as well as high-skilled developer. The API Architect must have a sound understanding of API and technology architecture, very good communication skills, with the ability to adapt them to different audiences. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: • 4+ years of experience in a full-time hands-on architect role. • Deep knowledge and experience with an API management platform: e.g. Mulesoft, Kong, Apigee, Zuul, etc • Knowledge of Swagger or other API documentation technologies as well as integration with API portals • Experience with micro-services architecture and REST oriented architectures • Knowledge about API design standards, patterns and best-practices • Hands-on experience in API security standards and implementation (Oauth, OpenId) • Proven track record of acting as SME for API projects • Knowledge and experience designing and implementing SOA and API Governance • Background in strategically aligning, consolidating, and remediating point-to-point integrations with APIs. • Software craftsman who values quality over quantity. • Experience with Agile or Lean development • Demonstrates a commitment to Hyatt core values PREFERRED SKILLS: • Strong Java skills – including Spring and SpringBoot • Knowledge of ServiceMesh e.g. Istio, and Envoy • Prior experience with Docker and Kubernetes EDUCATION: • Minimum Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
