Description:
POSITION/PROGRAM SUMMARY:
Junior Software Developer. This position will be responsible developing software for an R+D project. They will be working to develop an online suite of web-based geospatial application(s) and services into an enterprise architecture that will be developed in, and optimized for, use in the cloud. The successful candidate will develop software, participate in an Agile Scrum software development methodology, take direction from more senior developers, assist in problem resolution and troubleshooting. This will be a challenging, multi-faceted position that will expose the candidate to many aspects of the software development lifecycle.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Production of Geospatial software and software unit tests in an Agile development environment. Software Developer with 1 - 3 years experience developing software and with Object Oriented (OO) programming languages and techniques. Experience can include college projects and un-paid efforts.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- 1- 3 years software development experience
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Developed software using Java and or C/C++
- Experience troubleshooting the compiling and execution of software
- Knowledgeable on developing software on a Linux variant operating system

DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Agile (Scrum) Experience/Exposure
- Web service deployment and configuration
- Basic understanding of Geospatial Information Systems (GIS)
- Database utilization experience
- HTML 5 / JavaScript / Web Page creation
- ArcGIS Geo-processing tools and services
- Basic understanding of network communication
