Provides in depth cross-platform server systems, systems engineering and integration leadership. Functions in a large and geographically diverse Windows, UNIX and OS400 cross-platform systems environment supporting critical business and clinical applications (7 x 24 x 365). Provides 3rd level support for incident management across all environments with a 7x24x365 availability requirement. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to specification, design, engineering, configuration, testing, and implementation of server systems hardware, operating systems, related subsystems, and application components running on multiple platforms. Includes and not limited to standard server operating systems, clusters and ancillary systems. Performs systems development, testing, integration, and engineering experience with secondary cross-platform engineering and implementation experience on Sutter Health approved operating systems (e.g. Windows, OS400, Linux, Aix, and VMS), and related enterprise server platforms. Leads cross functional collaboration and coordination. Identifies, analyzes, and has ability to lead design specifications, configuration, and installation activities on Sutter Health approved hardware, operating system software, application programs, peripheral equipment. Participates in engineering and technical platform solutions for enterprise/system-wide systems Server hardware, operating system software, application programs, and peripheral equipment. Executes assigned priorities based upon severity, work-flow, and time constraints. Applies system expertise/skills/knowledge towards resolution of server issues. Escalates to appropriate support groups based upon pre-defined guidelines. Provides recommended solutions to systems staff, network engineers, and system/program application personnel to resolve escalated technical issues as required. Conducts or leads implementation of systems supported by Sutter Health Support services. Designs and implements complex application systems solutions. Assists and leads in implementing security and control procedures including, but not limited to backup and recovery. Cross functional collaboration and coordination Provides support for on-call coverage. Works with service desk/customer service representatives to provide timely support services to the user and receive, log-in, document and close out trouble calls using the service desk automated tool(s) and update knowledge based articles. Coordinates tasks and activities with other departments/sections and vendors as appropriate or directed. Coordinates efforts to ensure efficient and effective customer service. Maintains courteous rapport and friendly customer relations; communicates with users at their level of understanding. Maintains confidentiality of all data. Provides design specifications; configures, coordinates, installs, and tests server hardware, operating system software, application programs, peripheral equipment Implements new hardware, software and upgrades to existing technologies based on defined processes. Provides support for testing and tuning of installed systems components to ensure proper configuration and performance. Coordinates installation activities of systems and application packages with vendors. Implements and complies with security standards based on enterprise policies. Implements next-generation systems per vendor specifications As assigned, installs services for servers and application packages with project/product managers and project users.
