General & Analytical Skills: - Provides expertise to identify and translate system requirements into software design documentation - Lead development of formalized solution methodologies - Interface and coordinate tasks with internal and external technical resources. Collaborates with Project Managers and technical directors to provision estimates, develop overall implementation solution plan, and serve as a lead as required, to implement the installation, customization, and integration efforts - Oversee aspects of project life cycle, from initial kickoff through requirements analysis, design and implementation phases for projects within the solution area - Work to understand existing systems and recommend appropriate solutions based on future technical direction and business objectives - Monitor risks and issues, assist with development of mitigation plans and escalation of resolution as required - Use of UML diagrams to document system designs - Best practices and potential pitfalls of deploying systems into complex IT environments Technical Skills - 5+ years in a software design or architecture capacity - Training or experience with Object Orientated programming concepts - Familiar with Java technologies - Working knowledge of SOA environments (SOAP & RESTful) - Knowledge of Rules engines and proper system designs to support them - Understanding of Mainframe technologies - Data modeling and data mapping - Designing and performance tuning applications with high utilization - Hardware and network configuration, architectural considerations, and security protocols - Performance, load, and stress testing of applications Notes From Manager: Helps design software, build two applications. One is a replacement application. What should we build, why should we build it, looking at technology stacks. Familiar with OO concepts.
