Candidates work directly with various levels of business and technical staff to determine sound technical solutions for business requirements. Candidates designs, codes, tests and documents computer programs. Candidates have full technical knowledge of all phases of applications development and the development technologies utilized. Candidates provide production support for large, complex applications including the ability to resolve problems in constrained timeframes. Candidates may be responsible for mentoring less experienced team members. Candidates may lead small-to-medium projects or components of larger projects. Candidates have strong organization, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Experience must be current within the last year. Candidates have strong written and verbal communication skills. Specific Requirements(Java): Candidates must have at least 5 years software development experience, including broad exposure to the software development lifecycle. Candidates must have at least 3 years experience with relational databases, including complex SQL accessing a large, complex application database. Candidates must have moderate experience with logical relational database design (e.g., enhancements to existing tables; new tables for small enhancements). Experience must be current within the last year. A Bachelors degree in IT related field of study is preferred. Required Skills: * Associate Degree in Data Processing or equivalent. * At least 5 years development experience including at least 3 years experience on large-scale software development teams. * At least 4 years Java coding experience including at least 2 years Java Servlet Coding experience. Experience must be current within last year. * At least 2 years experience with Websphere Studio Rational Application Developer v 5 and above or Eclipse 3.2 and above. * At least 2 years experience with XML, JSP, HTML, DHTML, CSS, SQL Server, JavaScript coding. * At least 2 years experience with JDBC. * Experience with JAVA Server Faces Framework. * Experience participating in production support activities of a team, with focus on timely and accurate resolution of issues. * Experience mentoring in internet application development and design techniques. * Experience with all aspects of the software development lifecycle and workflow, estimation and target date planning, work plan development and monitoring, quality assurance, development methods/techniques and testing methods and techniques, solution development and evaluation of alternatives. * Must have excellent communication skills. Desired Skills: * Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field. * Experience with Application Server technologies including, but not limited to: Apache Tomcat 5.5 or above, BEA Weblogic and IBM Websphere 5.1 and above. * Experience managing projects using a project management tool such as Microsoft Project or Clarity (formerly known as NIKU Workbench). * Experience with Linux distributions including, but not limited to: SUSE and Red Hat. * Knowledge of Facelets Technology.   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
