Apex Systems, the nations 2nd largest Information Technology staffing firm, has an opportunity for a Site Reliability Engineer in Deerfield Beach, FL. This is a 6+ month rolling contract.


Site Reliability Engineer Job Description

You are a frontline firefighter addressing issues that will arise and making sure its fixed, ultimately assisting the team to transition into a proactive framework.

Manage availability, latency, scalability and efficiency of services by engineering reliability into software and systems.
Respond to and resolve emergent service problems and build automation tools to prevent problem recurrence.
Participate in service capacity planning and demand forecasting, software performance analysis and system tuning.
Review and influence ongoing design, architecture, standards and methods for operating services and systems.

Site Reliability Engineer Responsibilities

Principles: Keep the environment up and own the resolution. Unavailable? It is our problem, whatever the reason.
Manage the application/services environment, performance tuning, handle serious system problems and outages
SREs are good at coding automation. They perform a quick fix at the time and then immediately following, they are focused on writing something for automation.
They are only on-call during their normal working hours.
