Job Description :

Position Description:

Our large financial Client in Portland, ME is looking for a Java Guru to join their team on a long term project.

Responsibilities:

1. Introduce and leverage leading edge technologies

2. Work on a variety of projects ranging in both size and scope

3. Collaborate within the dev team and cross-team

4. Practice and mentor Agile and Continuous Development practices

5. Participate in Code Reviews, own improving the practice

6. Contribute to the companys best practices knowledge base

7. Develop browser-based, rich internet applications using cutting edge client-side Javascript, and server-side Java frameworks

Required Skills:

1. Solid Java experience; 8+ years

2. Expert in Web Application Development (Javascript/Angular, RDBS, Caching, PubSub) and/or highly scalable, always-up, performance batch and real-time processing applications

3. Possess the ability to estimate, design, develop, and test software, from server-side to client-side

4. OO skills, including design pattern knowledge and deep understanding of code performance

5. Experience with with Agile Methodologies

6. Knowledge of or experience with software best practices, like CI and TDD

7. Degree in science-based discipline. Bachelors at least

8. Deep knowledge of Java and Java libraries and frameworks (e.g. SpringBoot and Hibernate)

9. Strong communication skills in both written and oral form

10. Strong time management skills and detail-oriented work ethic

11. Experience automating and orchestrating distributed systems

12. Ability to thrive in a team environment and work effectively with diverse groups of coworkers

Desired Skills (not required but candidate will have exposure to these skills in this role):

1. Masters degree is a plus
