Over the past two years, the AGs Office has been building a statewide data collection system that identifies when and how police officers use force against civilians. In spring 2021, the AGs Office intends to launch a website that allows members of the public to review and analyze data collected through system. The AGs Office wants to make the website as user-friendly and accessible as possible, with clear, simple instructions about how to retrieve data and understand its meaning. The UX/design contractor would work with subject-matter experts to design the page, modeled on similar websites that other organizations have launched in recent years, including the Star-Ledgers Force Report (force.nj.com) and Campaign Zeros Mapping Police Violence site (mappingpoliceviolence.org). Candidates should provide at least 3 samples of their UX work, ideally involving data-heavy design projects. Monitoring and analyzing site performance. Test websites across browsers, operating systems and devices. Debug pages and fix broken links or images; Optimize loading speeds and capacity. Bachelors degree in Business or Information Technology. 3+ years experience as a Webmaster or Web Developer 3+ years of customer interfacing experience. Knowledge of web analytics and SEO Familiarity with web standards. Working knowledge of website management tools. Proficient in WordPress, HTML/CSS, XM, Javascript. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Strong understanding of information technology and business concepts.
