Job Description : Job Description: Summary: As a Senior DevOps Engineer at BlueTarp, you will lead efforts to build and scale the underlying systems that power BlueTarps web applications. You will architect solutions and lead the adoption of best-in-class tools and techniques. Using your expertise and creativity you will deliver performant, scalable, and secure infrastructure. You will thoroughly monitor our systems and aim to detect issues before our customers do. You will relentlessly automate repetitive tasks. You will dig into complex problems, surface deficiencies, and lead the team towards cost-effective solutions. Responsibilities: Administer the systems running our applications and databases (mostly Linux, some legacy Windows). Administer cloud-hosted and self-hosted infrastructure, and the connections between them (LAN/WAN, VPN, SMTP, local SAN, local Windows servers, cloud-hosted storage, load balancers, etc.). Lead regular network security and penetration tests and document results. Troubleshoot a variety of network, hardware, and software problems. Schedule and track repairs, maintenance, patching and upgrades to hardware and software. Contribute documentation and operational support for disaster recovery and business continuity planning Participate in an on call rotation ensuring 24/7 support for production systems and networks as frequently as one week out of three. Education/Experience: 8+ years Linux systems administration experience 8+ years Linux systems administration experience Strong network engineering background Proven scripting and debugging in languages such as bash, perl, ruby, groovy or python Qualifications: Strong time management skills and detail-oriented work ethic Ability to leverage tools to automate server builds (ex. Puppet, Ansible) Can troubleshoot and contribute to improving efficiency within the application and database environments. A firm grasp of advanced networking concepts including routing, subnets, firewalls, load balancing, DNS, VPN, SSL, SSH. Strong understanding of information security and finance industry best-practices (esp. PCI Compliance) Knowledge of and experience supporting disaster recovery and contingency planning to help minimize business-impacting risks Experience with cloud-hosted infrastructure (esp. Google Cloud Platform technologies such as GCE and GCS) Experience with Atlassian products (esp.
