Note: Local candidate always get looked at first Description: Lead SQL Database Administrator The Database Administrator Team Lead is responsible for leading efforts related to the planning, designing, developing, implementing and optimizing mission-critical application databases to achieve business performance and scalability standards. The Lead leverages their leadership and team skills to complete large-scale projects across multiple teams. The lead is responsible for all data reporting, database design, backup and recovery practices, replication and high availability, performance tuning, maintenance jobs, and applying system updates. What you will do here: Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring, health, performance, and availability on Microsoft SQL and PostgreSQL development and production databases. Perform Server/Database management, migrations, removals, archives and manage data purge processes on production and development databases. Monitor production SSIS packages, troubleshoot failures and re-run as necessary or escalate for additional development, assist with production deployments / changes, cross train to help with operational data work (back-ups / restores, etc) (DB DevOps). Lead efforts with cross-functional teams including .Net developers and windows systems engineers to drive improvements, automation and implement roadmap changes needed; maintain roadmap of improvements needed for databases, database servers, data integrity and security, industry best practices, etc. Perform SQL query code reviews and query performance tuning using advanced database analyzation tools. Act as team lead by coaching, cross training and mentoring to ensure work is done on time and as agreed, prioritize work and help with roadblocks or escalations as needed; model Mission, Vision and Values. Maintain detailed inventory of all DB servers, databases, combined with real-time and predictive resource allocation. Develop reporting solutions using custom tables and views normalizing disparate data sources. Conducts iterative performance tuning of database environments, ETL processes and SQL queries as needed. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. What you will need: 5 years of experience as Database Administrator, DBA, and/or Report writer. 5 years of experience of optimizing queries enabling improved response times. 5 years of Enterprise Data Center experience supporting mission critical, 24x7, Highly Available (HA), and Disaster Recovery (DR) database architectures. Bachelors degree in Information Technology or Information Systems preferred. Microsoft SQL Certifications – MCP, MCITP, and/or MCTS preferred. Extensive knowledge of database support concepts. Demonstrated experience with designing and managing relational databases with multiple RDBMS vendors (SQL and PostgreSQL). Testing and maintaining system backups. Configure SQL Server monitoring to ensure timely alerts and minimized false alarms. Ability to foster an environment that promotes the exchange of information and successful accomplishment of shared goals with business stakeholders, IT service peers, and vendor partners. Analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills. Excellent understanding of organizations goals and objectives. Excellent listening, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure. Strong customer service skills.
