The Legislative Information Systems is seeking a resource to assist them with their network Environment. Read the following carefully Responsibilities and Activities: Maintain a reliable and well performing network environment by: o Upgrading switches, routers, and software as needed o Establishing and revising assigned ports for different agencies and users o Troubleshooting and repairing, as required, network equipment • Provide support for Statehouse phone systems including trouble shooting, repairs, and installation of new lines • Provide daily operation and support of local LAN services and end user support for LIS and other Legislative agencies • Security o Maintain, troubleshoot and administer firewall support o Determine and set-up individual access rights o Maintain, troubleshoot and administer firewall intrusion detection services o Plan and coordinate VPN solutions with other Legislative agencies • Develop, install and monitor a network management system and make network management information available to other legislative agencies • Stay current in network design and design risks technology • Staying current with applicable hardware and operating system changes and enhancements Minimum Qualifications: • Configuration, Implementation, and Support of Cisco networking switches (Nexus, 3850, 6500) • Strong Cisco UCS knowledge • Cisco Prime and Wireless Controller support • Excellent written and communication skills • Experience with datacenter technologies; VMware, SAN • Familiarity with Microsoft, Unix/Linux environments Preferred Qualifications: • CCNA or CCNP certification • Experience with the design and maintenance of ASA firewalls • Familiarity with state Legislative environment The Network Engineer is responsible for analyzing, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining and repairing of network infrastructure and application components. A Network Engineer performs a wide variety of evaluation, maintenance, installation and training tasks to ensure the computer network performance meets company and user satisfaction. A Network Engineer also provides direction, information, and recommendations regarding network configurations and installations. NE2 Years of Relevant Experience: 4 to 8 years Preferred Education: 4 year college degree or equivalent Role Description: All roles specified in NE1 plus the following work experience and job knowledge: •Monitors software and network security. •Execute changes to improve systems and network configurations and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes. •Supervise other team members and provide training in advanced networking skills. •Write and produce technical documentation. •Knowledge of network applications, switches and servers. •Function as enterprise infrastructure expert in maintaining large , disparate systems and networks. •Confer with Network Architects or systems managers to ensure compliance of DTI standards. •Certifications Required Skills: * all roles and responsibilities listed in NE1 plus the following * Experience in config, implementation and support of Cisco networking switches ; nexus, 3850, 6500 * Experience with Microsoft, Unix/Linux environments * Excellent written and verbal communication * Excellent interpersonal skills * Experience with Cisco Prime and Wir   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
