Client is looking for a Software Developer/Programmer 5 (SDP5) – Mainframe Developer/Programmer/Analyst to analyze current Mainframe systems (COBOL, JCL, ADSO/IDMS) to do production problem resolution and development on Service Requests enhancement. The individual will Work with the business team to understand the business need and how the current code correlates. The business unit supported the DHS Child Support Bureau. Required Skills: Demonstrated through prior experience the ability to: • Analyze current operations and procedures; evaluate and select practical alternatives and present them to the users; produce design specifications of the selected alternatives; and obtain user approval of selected alternatives • Schedule and coordinate the development, testing, and implementation of systems • Preparation and maintenance of technical documentation • Understanding, analyzing, and documenting current Mainframe logic and flows and work with the users and business teams to correlate the same with how the systems support the current business, Federal and State requirements. • Must complete assigned task; communicate accurate and useful status updates; follow quality standards; Ability to work in a team environment; strong communication skills; both written and spoken. • Perform on-call duties for nightly and weekend batch cycles • Attention to details is a must since the documentation generated would be the basis of system rewrites. • Very clear, strong, and precise Verbal and written communication skills are needed to work and coordinate with multiple teams. • Prior DHS experience would be a plus. • Work independently with little supervision or guidance. • Demonstrates a willingness to independently dive in and learn new systems, processes, and business functionality. REQUIRED • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio. Etc. • Perform Mainframe programming with COBOL, IDMS, Panvalet, MVS JCL and PROCs. – • Demonstrated ability to effectively use third party tools and system utilities. Control M is a plus. • Build solutions that cross multiple compute platforms using batch processing techniques. • Implement data models as needed using IDMS non-relational database. • Build solutions within the specified project timelines. • Accurately prepare written correspondence that is coherent, grammatically correct, effective, professional, and engaging. • Demonstrated ability of self-motivation, self-direction, and able to work with little or no supervision. • IDMS development including working with ADSO dialogs for online screens • Previous experience with scheduling software – preferably Control-M • Understanding and experience in building consumable Web Services with Mainframe Technology. • Demonstrate ability documenting and proposing architecture for Mainframe Systems.   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
