Knowledge of data center layers/components (I.e. network, servers, database, storage) 2. Knowledge of mirroring and replication 3. Knowledge of virtualization 4. Knowledge of application architecture 5. Assist SA with documenting business requirements into technical documentation, MS Office skills a must WHAT ARE THE DELIVERABLES o Confirm list of applica?tions and associated infrastructure to be studied. o Capture application and alias names, and application components. o Identify any known application availability requirements, SLAs, and current recovery tiers. o Identify basic server configuration, OS, file system, DB, software, storage, and associated uncommon infrastructure related to the server. o Identify and segregate active production components from, HA & DR components. o Collect available performance data, or approximate % requirements using observation snapshots. o Classify servers into standard reference architectures. o Examine application components against compatibility matrixes. o Identify ready, not ready, coexistence. o Identify potential upgrades or remediation strategies. o Identify potential recovery resiliency strategies.
