MS SQL Server Troubleshooting Transact SQL Database Design SSIS Administrator (Jo   Requirement id 14247 Job title Administrator Job location in Irvine, CA Skills required Database Administrator, MS SQL Server, Troubleshooting, Transact SQL Database Design SSIS Open Date 14-Jun-2013 Close Date Job type Contract Duration 6 Months Compensation DOE Status requirement --- Job interview type Face to Face interview Apply    Email Recruiter: coolsoft Job Description Administrator: Database Administrator, MS SQL Server, Troubleshooting, Transact SQL Database Design SSIS Database Administrator Responsibilities o Support the production operational database components of Business applications. o Configure and maintain SQL Server Transactional replication across multiple subscribers o Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot SSIS packages running as a SQL Agent job o Assist management with database and resource capacity planning. o Administer and troubleshoot database security using proven methodologies. o Assist development staff with the debugging and optimization of SQL queries and stored procedures. o Ongoing database performance tuning and upgrades, including: monitoring and evaluation of all database patches and service packs. o Design and manage database migration processes used to populate test databases o Transact SQL and stored procedure development. o Research problems and recommend corrective actions. o Assist setting up database and instances in clustered environments. o Other duties as assigned. Qualifications o Degree in computer science or related field, 5 or more years of relevant industry experience, 3 of which include working as a database administrator in a production environment. o 3 or more years experience with MS SQL Server 2008 and at least one year experience with an additional RDMS. o Very strong in troubleshooting and optimizing SQL Server hosts and code performance. o Very strong understanding of SQL Server replication and associated technology. o Proven experience using Transact SQL. o Familiarity with MS SQL Server Mirroring and log shipping. o Familiarity with MS SQL Server SSIS configuration and deployment options o Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems. o Understanding of database design practices, including database normalization concepts. o Prefer background in Microsoft networking. o Proven ability to work with limited supervision in a team environment. o Excellent verbal and written communication skills. o Proficiency with PowerShell a plus o Linear troubleshooting ability o The ability to work with developers a plus. o Reporting and customer facing experience is a plus.
