The Public Health Information Network (PHIN) Unit of IAS seeks to contract an Application Architect 1 to join a collaborative team of developers and data and system architects who develop new applications, integrate existing systems and to enhance and improve existing system functionality. This contacted resource will support projects and data systems such as, but not limited to: The Vital Records Data Preservation and Conversion (DPC) project where the contracted resource will: • Liaise with the subject matter experts in Vital Records program and IAS Data Informaticist to determine the business requirements for a record matching interface. • Work with a team of Java developers to create a user interface for matching vital records data. • Work collaboratively with the Database Architect to develop the SQL Server database design, development (actively coding), and implementation to support data matching. The Client Health Profile project where the contracted resource will: • Work with a team of Java developers to expand the existing application to meet the business needs of the programs. Support the current Program Area Modules This resource must be familiar with information technology standards, Agile development methodologies, current and emerging technologies. An understanding of public health data, systems, and business processes is highly desirable. This contracted resource must be an expert in Java development, should be well organized and have the ability to coordinate activities across cross-agency teams comprised of business and technical staffs. This Contractor must also have excellent communication skills and must also have extensive experience working with business area Subject Matter Experts. A background check will be required prior to hire. Resource must be able to work on-site within a collaborative team environment.
