The Data Delivery team is responsible for the management, integration, and standardization and mastering of enterprise data. The Data Analyst works with customers, business units and project teams in the analysis, profiling, documentation, and management of data findings, analysis, and quality deliverables throughout the life of data oriented projects. This role conducts solution feasibility analysis ensuring the business needs are delivered by the overall data solution and overall quality is achieved. The DA will work closely with other data analysts, business analysts, data architects, and developers (onshore and remote) to ensure that data requirements and findings in the source systems data are fully understood and fit for purpose by the project teams before solutions are designed and implemented for business consumption. RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform requirements gathering and data analysis in order to provide high quality and detailed data requirements, ensuring the closest involvement with, and agreement from, the user community Conducts data analysis activities and data prototypes against source systems, 3rd party products, or data that resides within QuintilesIMS business intelligence solutions to confirm data quality, prove concepts, determine if data is fit for purpose and inform accurate solution development Data modeling and creation of source-to-target data maps Triage of data issues reported by users in production systems. Defining and documenting data standardizations to be performed, data enrichment operations, data validations, data security requirements, and data exception handling processes Perform data profiling on relational databases and XML. Be a go to subject matter expert for QuintilesIMS clinical data, reporting and analytics systems. Assist in knowledge transfer to other technical staff members of business data processes Facilitate and/or participate in joint analysis and design sessions to understand needs of the customer. Collaborate with developers to ensure adherence to business requirements and customer needs Resolve conflicting end-user requirements Conducts root cause analysis on data issues throughout the life cycle of the project Follow QuintilesIMS System Life-Cycle (SLC) and Computer System Validation (CSV) procedures, as appropriate Collaborate with designated members of the applicable business groups to create requirement documents Collaborate with the design and development teams to create Functional Specification (FS) documents Model processes to clarify business requirements, and to enhance or re-engineer business processes, prior to, or in parallel with, solution design and implementation, as necessary Produce and review data/information models and preliminary system architecture, as needed As needed, review the Performance Qualification (PQ) document(s) prior to authorization and execution, to ensure that it incorporates previously-captured requirements, and includes tests or test steps that explicitly address each identified user requirement Collaborate with Global IT Solutions functional groups by adhering to established processes to ensure that business requirements are delivered through successful project implementation of optimal, cost-effective solutions Collaborate with project team to ensure timely delivery and quality of all project deliverables Exhibit confidence and an extensive knowledge of emerging industry practices when solving business problems.
