You will work as part of a cross-functional converged infrastructure team with SMEs from Compute, Database, Networks, Storage and Web services where you will collaborate to provide deep analysis, insights and recommendations for key Services, Applications and Infrastructures. Role Overview: Act as primary Database subject matter expert (SME) working on a cross-functional / cross-disciplinary team, along with Compute, Database, Storage, Networks and Web SMEs Focus primarily on the Data Analytical aspects of problem solving, including performance analysis, capacity planning, configuration validation, detailed application profiling Building detailed topology maps depicting schemas designs, query logic paths, data flows and leveraging data analysis to identify hot spots and potential problems areas. Documenting detailed findings and recommendations for to be implemented by Application Support and/or Operational line teams You Offer... Bachelor Degree in Computer Science with Mathematics, Statistics and/or Data Science. Excellent understanding of Systems and Database Architecture fundamentals and advanced concepts (when to use an RDBMS versus NoSQL or Big Data) Expert at building data structures to support myriad requirements for mixed datasets (system logs, raw output from CLI commands, system events & alerts versus optimized and indexed structured data) In-depth knowledge of performance best practices for high performance computing and low-latency technologies (near real time data loads and data access, bus architectures) Hands on experience using Big Data systems Hadoop, MapReduce, Cloudera, Pivotal, HBASE, Accumulo, Greenplum, GemFire Strong scripting skills for data mining, extract, transform & load using Python, Perl, shell and/or JavaScript. Proficient written and verbal communication skills Excellent team player and collaborator/ Excellent problem solver leveraging Data Analysis, IT Operational Analytics, Business Intelligence and Data Visualization technologies.
