This is a 100% REMOTE opportunity on one of the 10 largest Splunk deployments in in the world!! Role: Splunk Infrastructure Engineer Location: 100% Remote Duration: Long term Contract Compensation: Based off experience; Work with a high degree of independence to perform administration activities to ingest new feeds into Splunk, or make modifications to existing feeds. Participate in the continuous maturity of feed intake automation and strengthening of the production release process. This role is focused specifically on the intake and ingestion of data into Splunk -- this is NOT a position for development of dashboards or reporting. Additionally, this is Splunk implemented in a very large enterprise. It is critical to success to have experience in an environment with structured change controls, extensive clustering, and ingestion from thousands of devices totaling terabytes of daily ingestion. In addition to a fit in this large enterprise environment the selected candidates will take on additional responsibilities on the team as listed below. Experience in one of these specific areas is a requirement: Position #1 – Splunk engineer for accelerated data onboarding Work on specific project to ingest web and app tier logs into Splunk in a VERY rapid pace Experience with very large Splunk environment (multiple TB data ingested daily) Experience with data transports – universal forwarders, rsyslog, http event collector, dbconnect Experience with scripted inputs Experience with change controls & enterprise lifecycle release management Position #2 – automation engineer for maturing Splunk self-service and onboarding services Engineer with automation skills can assist in helping to make Splunk more self-service and automated from a deployments perspective Needs to have successfully experience doing this somewhere else, in a large environment Experience with tools like subversion, JIRA, Ansible, git to organize/automate workflow Position #3 – infrastructure/application engineer Assist in our infrastructure expansion, Splunk application design, architecture documentation, and version upgrade Position #4 – Splunk onboarding & reporting engineer (Production Management Technologies) Ingest data into Splunk from monitoring tool applications (Netuituve, IV, CA, etc) Some basic reporting and dashboarding Position #11 – Splunk onboarding & reporting engineer (Qradar) Ingest data into Splunk Develop dashboards Develop Enterprise Security reporting Required Skills & Experience related to environment: Strong background in Unix/Linux system administration, including command line and scripting (ideally 5+ years of direct experience running/administering a Splunk instance) 5+ years of Splunk support with agent experience, troubleshooting, installation, and configuration 3+ years of Windows and UNIX administration 2+ years of performance analysis and tuning experience related to logging 2+ years of experience with Splunk application design, architecture, and installation Strong experience in operating systems analysis/engineering Experience with Splunk in a large, distributed enterprise environment with a high ingestion rate (multiple TB of data per day) Ex   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
