Job Description Developer: NIEM, GFIPM, NCIC, Sharepoint CONNX Service Oriented Archit

Description:

The Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) Technology Architect is responsible for providing the enterprise architecture of the Connecticut Information Sharing System (CISS). The Technology Manager ensures that the architecture adheres to the Connecticut Enterprise Architecture - Technology Architecture (CTEA-TA) and the Global Justice Reference Architecture (JRA).

Responsibilities:

* Being accountable for providing the Technology Manager with the architecture and design for the entire CISS environment.
* Being knowledgeable on all facets of SDM and assisting the CISS team on SDM compliance for CJIS activities.
* Fulfilling the SDM Enterprise Architect duties.
* Fostering and ensuring cooperation and coordination among the various justice part-ners and Information Services (IS) organizations within the state and local agencies.
* Ensuring compliance with CTEA-TA, JRA, National Information Exchange Model (NIEM), and other criminal justice industry standards in all areas of the CISS envi-ronment.
* Assisting in the training of the CISS project team and other state and local agencies in the methods and approaches of JRA, other criminal justice standards, and CTEA TA.
* Overseeing design activities and ensuring compliance with the CISS architecture.
* Ensuring vendor adherence to the methods, approaches, and standards described in the CISS architecture.
* Providing assistance to the RFP selection team for technology or architectural re-views and recommendations regarding the completeness and quality of vendor solu-tions.
* Providing technology consultation to the agencys and vendors technology teams.
* Contributing to and providing support for the Executive Directors development of a recurring Strategic Technology Plan.
* Contributing architecture requirements to the Technical Requirements Workbook.
* Helping prepare the project team for Technical Review Board (TRB) design reviews.
* Creating Request for Service (RFS) tickets when Department of Information Tech-nology (DOlT) Service Area support is needed for architecture support.
* Developing presentations for stakeholders, officials, and other interested parties when requested by the Executive Director or Technical Manager.
* Serving as the primary author of the architecture and technology standards for the CISS Technology Plan.
* Contributing to disaster recovery planning.
* Attending and participating in all phase-end decision-point meetings.
* Performing any duties as assigned by the Executive Director or Technology
Manager.

* Leadership for technology architectures within the state.
* Preparation for and business acceptance of new technology approaches.
* Inclusion of legacy systems and data with a minimal impact to their current environments.
* Bachelor of Science Degree (Masters Degree preferred) in computer science
* Ten years experience in software engineering of which five years must be directly involved as a principal technology architect.
* Criminal Justice domain knowledge
