Description: The Division of Technology Services is responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and obtaining multiple mission critical applications for the Department of Social Services.The project will support the Agencys data and application services and servers, and work with Agency teams to migrate data into the Agencys Azure tenant. Candidate will deploy, administer, and manage the Agencys Azure solutions and look after the storage, identity, governance, and computing solutions available with the Azure cloud computing platform. Project must ensure ongoing compliance with SC State and Federal architecture and data security requirements and maintain reliable communication between Agency systems and services and DSS partners and service end points. Position Description – Network Administrator – Consultant The candidate will provide technical expertise and support for ongoing projects and system support tasks assigned to the SC Department of Social Services Server and Cloud Services Administration unit. This position will work for the manager of that team and the Director of Network Operations and Data Center services, and with the Agency infrastructure, server, and database teams. This position will consult with Agency management, technical, and development teams to design and achieve secure, stable, and responsive systems and services, with a goal of improved system availability and performance for Agency customers, both internal and external. Candidates will work in a large state agency, deploying, maintaining, and securing the cloud storage, MS365, and Azure services supporting critical state and federal programs. Position will work closely with SC DSS staff, the SC Department of Administration, and our Microsoft partners to improve service outcomes and compliance with security and performance requirements. Candidate should have a clear understanding of the Microsoft cloud computing services that include networking, storage, databases, servers, and software in the cloud. Major responsibilities of this position include the following: • Provide technical expertise for ongoing development and support to migrate SC Department of Social Services file and application storage to cloud storage solution. • Monitor and support SC DSS Agency Azure/cloud storage solutions to identify and resolve performance issues with agency employee devices, client/partner endpoints, and the SC data center. • Monitor and assure successful integration of application services hosted at the SC Department of Administrations with SC DSS Azure environment. • Configure and maintain virtual machines, virtual networks, and load balancers to provide optimum performance. • Troubleshoot issues with Windows virtual machines and virtual networks connected to Azure. • Add and remove individuals and groups from the list of authorized users, archiving files, overseeing password protection and other security measures, monitoring usage of shared resources. • Understand the interactions between systems, applications, and services within the environment, and evaluate the impact of changes or additions. • Analyze systems and perform usability testing to ensure performance and reliability, enhance scalability, and meet security requirements. • Determine and communicate the implications of cloud storage decisions on subsystems and components and help determine how best to mitigate   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
