Sr. SSIS ETL DataWarehouse Developer What Project/Projects will the candidate be working on while on assignment? The candidate will be doing ETL development work in SSIS to build a new DataWarehouse for the HouseCalls business. The candidate will also be assisting with QA of the ETL processes, the loaded and transformed data at various stages of warehousing. (Please be detailed as to what the candidate is expected to do or complete on a daily basis) Develop SSIS ETL processes to ingest data from source systems and operational transactional applications Use SSIS to apply medium to complex ETL transformations on raw data Handle complex data warehousing ETL design needs such as slowly changing dimensions, incremental loading, validation checks, exception data handling etc. QA ETL processes and transformed and loaded data in the DW to ensure the transformation and rules have been applied correctly Use SSIS to create derived attributes from raw data with an objective of creating semantic layers/data marts for reporting and analytics What software tools/skills are needed to perform these daily responsibilities? SQL Server Management Studio SSIS What skills/attributes are a must have? Vast experience in developing data warehouses, data marts, operational data stores using SSIS Experience handling complex scenarios in data warehousing Experience improving performance of SSIS and SQL scripts Experience QAing data in various stages of ETL processes Experience transforming raw data to information using SSIS (derived attributes, complex business rules/logic) What skills/attributes are nice to have? Experience leading the ETL development of a data warehouse/mart/ODS Experience leading QA activities related to data warehousing Experience designing and modeling a DW Where is the work to be performed?
