Job Description: Client is supporting our enterprise level financial services client with an experienced Database Administrator Specialist who will be responsible for database administration. This is a fast-paced operations environment supporting 24x7 business critical applications using analytical and transactional databases having SQL and NOSQL, on new cutting edge technologies on Cloud and VMC platforms. The Database Administrator must be able to troubleshoot any database issues, performance analysis, ensure database security, evaluate new database trends and technologies, develop and test automation scripting and coding that is required for database administration and associated database tools. 12 Month Contract Eventually will need to be onsite in either Northern, VA or Dallas, TX - Dallas, TX is preferred. Basic requirements: • More than 10 years of experience in Database administration • Solid hands on experience with Database technologies – MongoDB and RDS/Postgres • Extensive Database performance tuning experience • Deep knowledge of industry-standard, enterprise-class best practices for a large database environment • Good experience with AWS Cloud and Linux/VM platform • Deep understanding of HA, DR Database and storage technologies Data replication • Experience implementing, supporting and auditing database security • Hands on automation experience with Python, YAML, Unix Shell scripting, etc. Preferred Skills: • Experience supporting Big Data Hadoop platforms • Experience with relational database management such as MSSQL/Oracle/DB2/Sybase. • Experience with Database monitoring tools • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Experience working in virtual environment using VMware • Database and Cloud vendor certification   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
