Organizes, sorts and filters data in order to distinguish patterns and recognize trends. Develops and maintains data preparation and validation routines to support data mining and has experience in creating complex data mining algorithms. Selects, recommends and applies appropriate analytic and statistical methodologies and techniques to execute against an analysis plan or research objectives. Evaluates new analytics tools and methodologies for possible deployment. creates data warehouses/marts and/or develops data mining analyses to support business decisions. Primary Responsibilities: • Build constructive partnerships with business leadership to proactively recommend solutions to business/stakeholders • Participate in project meetings with customers to understand requirements of project or design objectives • Validate requirements with stakeholders and project teams, providing suggestions and recommendations as appropriate • Serve as a liaison between business and IT to ensure the business requirements are accurately translated into technical specifications • Communicate proposed technical solutions to business/stake holders • Support all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) • Ensure projects adhere to the standard Optum development processes • Participate in Solution reviews and validate the business/technical value of proposed solutions to the requirements in the PRD • Participate in HLD (High Level Design) reviews and raise any concerns related to technical challenges implementing the design • Complete and maintain mapping documents, technical specifications and design documents as required • Monitor and report on the progress of the project and escalate to management when delays or issues occur • Mentor and provide direction to junior analysts • Provide status on defect resolution during SIT (Systems Integration Testing) and UAT (User Acceptance Testing) • Support the project throughout the warranty phase, including monitoring and tracking issues reported, and managing deployment of bug-fixes • Provide feedback on resource performance to resource managers Required Qualifications: • 5+ years combined experience as a systems analyst, business analyst or data analyst • In-depth knowledge and experience with relational database, big data/Hadoop concepts and ETL methodologies • Ability to write SQL and NOSQL queries for ad-hoc analyses, data quality, and data profiling when needed to gain a detailed understanding of the data • Experience guiding business partners in helping them understand their IT data systems and its correlation to business processes • Experience helping the business elicit data analytics, reporting and BI requirements • Ability to deliver quality work on a tight schedules in a fast-paced environment, across multiple concurrent assignments • Excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to influence and gain consensus • Strong analytical and problem solving skills and abilities • Ability to work in an unstructured environment, and the drive to learn new skills, IT tools, technologies and business processes Preferred Qualifications: • 5+ years professional experience in the healthcare field (IT or Business) • Bachelors degree   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
