The focus of this organization is to support the business with robust systems and applications that provide data, analytics, and reports for numerous functions including finance, sales, marketing, supply chain, customer service, accounts receivable, accounts payable, procurement, etc. The role will involve a combination of end user mentoring/training/guidance, active participation in an internal analytics User Group, rapid deployment of "one time" and prototype analytical solutions, and design/development of more robust "production" analytical solutions. The Analytics COE Analyst is responsible for building, implementing and supporting Microsoft BI solutions. The right individual will possess experience in all stages of analytics project and support work (requirements and logical design, physical design, implementation, testing, deployment and support). The individual should have a firm grasp of analytics implementation methodologies and will have had in-depth experience with the Microsoft analytics Stack (SQL Server, SSAS Tabular, Power BI, DAX, SQL, T-SQL) and associated development tools (Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio, SQL Server Data Tools, Microsoft Team Foundation Services/Git). Strong experience with BI tools such as Tableau or Qlik may be substituted for Power BI experience, but the selected candidate must be able to quickly come up to speed on Power BI-based solutions. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBLITIES AND TASKS: Responsibilities and tasks are written as follows: Scope, design, develop and enhance Microsoft Power BI reports Microsoft Analysis Services Tabular models Microsoft Azure SQL and SQL Data Warehouse models Azure Data Lake Store environments Tune/optimize/refactor queries, processes and system designs to improve performance and throughput Maintain active relationships with business customers to determine and document business and technical requirements Facilitate requirement, design, testing and training sessions with business customers and colleagues Convert existing manual Excel/Access/Power BI datasets/reports into production-quality solutions Collaborate with other teams within the organization and devise technical solutions to meet business/functional and technical requirements Proactively mentor colleagues and business associates to develop their technical skills as well as their understanding and utilization of Smithfields Business Analytics services and toolsets. Maintain documentation for all processes and solutions implemented Adhere to Smithfields coding and application lifecycle management practices, and contribute to the improvement of these procedures Review and assess the integration of SAP S4/HANA and SAP BW with Microsoft analytics data management solutions (Azure Data Lake Store, Azure SQL, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Power BI Premium and Azure Analysis Services) Other duties or tasks as assigned by management ?QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
