Position Location - Primary work location will be at any of the following SJM locations; St. Paul, Plano, Austin or Sylmar

Qualified Candidates Must have the following:
#1 - 5+ years of experience with data warehousing projects and knowledge of industry leading best practices.
#2 - 3+ years of experience with Hadoop, Sqoop and ODI Technologies
#3 - Deep knowledge of core Hadoop components


Position Duties -
- Partners with business and implementation teams on implementation and enhancement projects.
- Leads the strategic planning and development of architectural roadmaps, including presenting to business divisions and management
- Collaborates with business analysis and ensures solution architecture conforms to existing standards or new reference standards have been developed.
- Creates application architecture and facilitates development design. Ensures architecture and design will meet business functional requirements.
- Creates software design specifications addressing business requirements by utilizing the appropriate specifications, methodologies, standards and templates.
- Participates in strategic planning and development of architectural roadmaps, including presenting to business divisions and management.
- Understands underlying technologies adequately to discuss options with other technical team members and supervisors.
- Coordinates the implementation of solutions with technical resources and members of the process and business teams.
- Drives resolution of implementation and technical issues related to assigned projects.
- Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative
communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.


Technical and Industry Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Business, Mathematics or any other applied sciences.
5+ years of experience with data warehousing projects and knowledge of industry leading best practices.
5+ years of experience in Data Architecture
2+ years of data warehouse architecture experience.
2+ years of experience with Teradata Aster
2+ years of experience with Linux Administration
Deep knowledge of core Hadoop components (HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Hbase, YARN) and substantial awareness of other components in the Big Data stack.
Experience architecting solutions for large data volumes for complex reporting needs
Experience documenting functional and technical requirements, technical design, test cases and training material.

Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
Ability to travel approximately 10%, including internationally.
