Job Description: This exciting opportunity is for a senior technical professional to be a Solutions Architect (SA) within the Solution Architecture team. The SA provides strategic guidance and architectural leadership on business and technology change and is accountable for: •Working with business and technical leaders, sponsors and analysts on problem understanding and requirements discovery •Defining the architectural approach and design of complex IT systems which includes technology selection, design configuration and definition of solution alternatives to ensure system design meets business objectives along with proper delivery risk mitigation •Leading and/or contributing to new technology or product assessments and proof of concepts, which includes documenting standards and guidelines and leading technology adoption •Partnering with project management to define an applications technical delivery approach, activities, roles, dependencies, project estimates, risk identification and remediation planning, issue management, etc. •Reviewing detailed designs to ensure that they align with planned project scopes and adhere to approved architectural principles, patterns and standards •Proposing architectural pattern changes or exceptions to Architecture governing boards •Contribute to new pattern definition through capability expansion and solving technology, process and/or usage gaps •Contribute to strategic planning by working with business and IT leaders to develop future IT strategy, roadmaps, investment plans, etc. Basic Qualifications: Seven + years of application or technical architecture design and planning experience. Minimum Qualifications: •Demonstrated ability to influence business and IT management on technical or business solutions •Demonstrated practical application of a wide set of technical principles, practices, and procedures to design, build and implement complex application systems •Demonstrated ability to identify key trends in the industry and with internal business processes •10+ years of development experience with OO technologies such as .NET or Java •Understanding and experience with SOA (Service Oriented Architectures) design or development •Understanding and experience with full software development life cycles (waterfall and Agile methodologies) •Understanding and experience with relational databases, asynchronous messaging and other components for full solution development such as infrastructure and middleware components •Experience with PowerPoint, Visio, Enterprise Architect or other system design and communications products •Demonstrated Analyst experience. This includes the ability to gather and create both functional and technical requirements and build specifications and other documentation •Knowledge of architecture standards and methodologies such as Gartner, TOGAF, Zachman • Demonstrated strong leadership, communication and relationship skills. This includes experience presenting to, collaborating with and building trusted relationships with executive management, senior management and technical peers to influence direction • Demonstrated project management experience.
