Submission Deadline: 3/30/2018 Start Date: 4/1/2018 End Date: 6/30/2018 Client: Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) Description: Job/Project Description One to two on-site Application Developer(s) is being sought (starting March 2018) to perform application development tasks and activities for the Montana Department of Transportation (MDT), Oracle Report conversion to Jasper project. The goal of the project is focused on completing the conversion, development, testing, and documentation to migrate over 800 Oracle Reports to JasperReports. A team of subject matter experts and a staff of 20 application developers are in the process of converting reports, and updating documentation for the current calendar year. A migration schedule has already been created, JIRA projects have been configured for each development team, customer contact has been initiated, and testing has been outlined for the duration of the remaining project. The Application Developer(s) selected for this position will schedule rotation with one of four development teams to participate in conversion, development, testing, training and implementation of the report conversion project. Successful candidate will work closely with, and report to, one of three Application Development Supervisors. Projected work hours are estimated at 40 hours per week over the length of the project. The stated completion date for the project is end of June 2018 although the contract may be extended in one-year increments. Background The mission of MDT is to serve the public by providing a transportation system and services that emphasize quality, safety, cost effectiveness, economic vitality and sensitivity to the environment. Contracted services are essential to provide project augmentation to meet the migration deadline. Objectives of this CEP: 1. Migrate Oracle Reports to JasperReports. 2. Maintain migration plan. 3. Maintain system design documentation. 4. Maintain source code. 5. Initiate UAT and develop test plans as necessary. 6. User training and communication. 7. Report to and take direction from the Application Development Supervisors. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Application Development • Develop Jasper reports according to MDT development standards. • Maintain migration plans and associated project documents. • Effectively communicate project tasks and expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. • Set and maintain project expectations with team members and other stakeholders. • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. • Discuss identified project conflicts with the project leadership and work to resolution. • Develop and deliver progress reports, documentation and presentations to the project leadership team. Experience Requirements 1. Bachelors Degree or higher, or equivalent work experience. 2. Previous experience with Oracle Forms or Report development, Oracle Relational Database, PL/SQL, Java 8, jQuery or JavaScript, Spring Framework, and JSF is mandatory. 3. Experience with or knowledge of Jasper Reports, Subversion, JIRA, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Visio is preferred. 4. Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software development, application development standards, and agile development methodology. 5.
