The role works closely with business analysts and development teams to ensure applications meet business and technical requirements and are of high quality. Position Responsibilities: Estimate, plan and perform software testing for projects of varying size and complexity. This position will develop a solid business and functional understanding of the system(s) under test and serve as a knowledge resource for team members. 50%: Create and maintain reusable test cases and execute tests using manual and automated tools. 30%: Analyze test results, document software defects, and validate defect fixes. 10%: Coordinate software testing for releases, prepare release testing status reports, and communicate test results and issues to interested stakeholders. 10%: Monitor project activities, assess quality risks, and recommend mitigation. Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of quality assurance best practices. Apply test methodology, engineering and product knowledge in the design of tests and testing strategies for the analysis and qualification of products. Define and tracks quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts. Plan and conduct the analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality for large and complex projects. Position Requirements: Someone with Ruby Automation testing experience is preferred. Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Business Related Work Experience: 4-6 years 4+ years experience in software development, quality assurance, or management information systems. 2+ years experience planning, estimating, and executing testing for large, complex multi-tier applications. Strong familiarity with software quality assurance processes, software testing best practices, quality metrics, and performance & automated testing tools. Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in IT systems and projects across the organization. Must possess a team player attitude and be committed to promoting and fostering teamwork. Ability to translate business needs into test requirements. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are needed to identify programming errors or inconsistencies. Experience working in Agile development environments. Experience with Project/Configuration Management methodologies and tools desired (e.g., Scrum, JIRA, Quality Center); experience in test effort estimation and tracking and leading projects of limited scope Strong interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation. Detail-oriented with an emphasis on delivering accurate, high-quality assignments and projects. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Organized and capable of prioritizing and managing multiple concurrent assignments. Client is a 24x7x365 operation.
