Creating Oracle databases. Developing and testing a backup and recovery strategy, backing up Oracle databases regularly, and recovering them in case of failures. Configuring the network environment to enable clients to connect to databases. Starting up and shutting down the database. Managing storage for the database. Managing users and security. Work closely with Project Manager and ITS Managers on active/pending projects, prepare Documentation. Administrative Tasks: Attend and participate in meetings, prepare a weekly report, complete NYS LATS timecard daily. Mandatory Qualifications: Uses specialized software to store and organize data, which may include capacity planning, installation, configuration, database design, migration, performance monitoring, security and troubleshooting, as well as backup and data recovery. 84+ Months-Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field. Preferred Qualifications: 84 months of experience troubleshooting Oracle 10g or higher database performance and other related issues; specifically by working with other teams to identify if the issue is at the storage, network, database, or application tier. 84 months of experience working with developers to suggest modifications which could improve the performance of their SQL (e.g., avoiding cartesian products, suggesting indexes, etc). 84 months of experience using RMAN for backup and recovery of Oracle 10g or higher databases. Experience must include using RMAN for recovery. 84 months of experience upgrading and patching Oracle 10g or higher Database software in a Unix-like environment (e.g. AIX, Linux, etc). Experience must include both upgrading and patching an entire RAC cluster with DataGuard. 84 months of experience installing Oracle 10g or higher Database software in a Unix-like environment (e.g. AIX, Linux, etc). Experience must include installing and configuring an entire RAC cluster with DataGuard. 48 months of experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 13 or higher. 84 months of experience investigating, gathering diagnostic data for, and reporting to Oracle Support Services any critical database errors. 36 months of experience with Oracle 10g or higher with an application tier which uses IBM Cúram architecture (direct experience with Cúram itself not necessary).
