Must have excellent relationship building, leadership and client management skills. Must have a deep understanding of project management tools and approaches to managing complex projects. The Project Manager will provide leadership and management of standard project practices following an established Project Management Methodology (PMM) and System Development Methodology (SDM). Required Skills : * Strong understanding of all aspects of an IT organization – including Network and Server Administration, Database Administration, and Applications Development * Strong understanding of application development projects and system development life cycles * Strong project planning, leadership and management skills (including level of effort estimation, planning and prioritization of project tasks) * Strong communication and presentation skills * Strong meeting management skills * Strong written skills to create project documents that are Department-friendly * Strong results orientation, high energy focus with good business judgment * Ability to champion an idea and build consensus and support * Ability to bring a group to compromise as needed and resolve conflict * Ability to think strategically or in terms of "enterprise wide" solutions and have a broad range of technical knowledge * Ability to act as a mentor to Department staff Experience : * Must have 5+ years of experience as Project Manager. * Must possess experience with the following project management activities: * Leading process to complete project charter and obtain necessary approvals. * Creating and publishing project documents to include project scope, work breakdown structure, risk assessment and response, critical path, time estimates, schedules, and budget projections. * Determining resources required to accomplish project objectives. * Conducting or participating in stakeholder meetings. * Creating and executing plans for communication, change control, quality control, and specific coordination of activities. * Oversee execution of project tasks, monitoring performance and solving project slippage and/or constraints in timely manner. * Managing stakeholder expectations, project risks and solving problems. * Controlling project scope and changes, schedule, budget, and status reporting. * Facilitate closeout activities like lessons learned and customer feedback * Must have knowledge of PMBOK project management practices * Must have knowledge of AGILE development methodology * Must have experience with identifying needed skills, accessing current staff skills and developing training curriculums to attain skills * Must have experience identifying and developing operational procedures necessary to support complex mission critical application * Prefer previous experience with Finance applications or Workflow Automation projects * Prefer previous experience managing projects for the State of Nebraska and familiarity with the Department of Roads Education : * Prefer BS/BA in Computer Science or Management Information Systems. * Prefer Project Management Institute Certification (PMP)   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
