About the Role We are looking for a Software Engineer, Backend who will be a part of the early buildout of our backend software platform. The work will consist of considerable new service development as we add and improve features to power our product, and build software and data integrations to help build applications and tools to transform how people bet online. Youll have the opportunity to impact our core product from inception and make key contributions in building something new from scratch. Minimum Qualifications 5+ years hands-on back-end programming experience using Python, Java, Go, or related languages and frameworks Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL Large systems software design and development experience, with experience in Unix/Linux Quality-first mindset with focus on test automation and CI/CD Strong understanding of AWS Familiarity with RESTful services and API design Demonstrated experience of shipping high-quality product features on schedule Knowledge of NoSQL such as AWS DynomoDB, MongoDB, Redis Working knowledge of GIT or similar SCM systems Prior experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable micro-services and asynchronous processing systems Good understanding of distributed systems, data stores, data modeling, indexing and associated trade-offs Preferred Qualifications BS/MS/Phd in Computer Science or related field Experience with GraphQL Experience with TCP/IP and network programming Solid foundation in data structures, algorithms and software design with strong analytical and debugging skills Good understanding of private and public cloud design considerations and limitations in the areas of virtualization and global infrastructure, distributed systems, load balancing and networking, massive data storage, and security What Youll Do Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve scalable cloud-based web applications that power our product and data research Implement standards and practices to improve and maintain code quality Assist in troubleshooting production incidents and provide timely resolution Write server side code for AWS based applications, create robust high-volume production applications, and develop prototypes quickly What We Offer A fun, exciting work environment that values creativity and teamwork and gives you the potential to grow with the organization A chance to get in on the ground floor with a new company and build something from scratch IT skills Must have AWS 5 year(s) of experience PostgreSQL 3 year(s) of experience Python 5 year(s) of experience Nice to have GraphQL 1 year(s) of experience Languages Must have English Native or bilingual proficiency   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
