The Network Software Engineer III is expected to contribute in areas dealing with software design, service architecture, code development and management, testing, integration, and deployment in the delivery of Commercial Managed Services, voice, video and data. Job Requirements: (Specify what the employee will need (skill, knowledge & abilities) to be successful in this role): Job Requirements: 3+ years experience with full-stack development of web interface applications, Python object oriented design and development in an agile CI/CD environment, or experience working on network monitoring and management tool integrations. Experience with open source tools (Linux, Python, Django, Apache, Git, MySQL/MariaDB, OpenStack, XML, JSON, Ansible). Strong understanding of Python object development, testing, integration, and deployment. Strong base for software architecture and design including inter-process communications, asynchronous processing, micro-services, message queueing, interfaces, and API development. Strong understanding of Web interface programming including HTML, JavaScript, AJAX, REST. Strong understanding of Internet security considerations in web and application development including authentication, SSL, TLS, firewalls, ACLs and DMZs. Strong understanding of development documentation, requirements, code, test, deployment, and user. Ability to perform standard business processes using Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Sharepoint, Confluence, Jira, and more. Average understanding of telecommunications and enterprise managed services. Average understanding of network equipment configuration and operations including routing and network protocols, switching, and interface monitoring parameters. Average understanding of network management applications, SNMP, FCAPS, and SLMs. Strong oral and written skills Ability to work constructively in teams of diverse individuals, with various ideas and methodologies Must be customer focused and service oriented Essential Job Functions (Describe functions that are performed that are necessary for the companys operation at a frequency of at least 60%) Essential Job Functions: Support, develop, and maintain multi-tier application and integrated systems used to support operations with tools, automations, consoles, dashboards, and consolidated interfaces. Develop full-stack web interface applications, using Python, Django web framework. Maintain and extend various enterprise application databases, MySQL and PostGreSQL. Ability to work in a Linux/Unix environment with Ubuntu experience desired, including package management, application load and configuration, and systems monitoring and administration. Manage a service critical codebase with version control using Git including Gitlab, or Github. Ability to adopt and extend continuous integration and testing processes, Jenkins experience preferred.
