QA Test Engineer Test Automation DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: With no or minimal supervision, debugs complex software products through the use of systematic tests to develop, apply and maintain quality standards for company products Responsible for the health and state of regression tests Responsible for consolidation of test results, procedures and application specifications Provides technical consultation on automation issues, tools and processes. Develops and executes software test plans Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures. Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software. Document detailed steps to reproduce defects / Documents and tracks product testingproblems Analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action. Consults with development engineers and business analysts to resolve problems Assists with the designing, coding and execution of automated test scripts Attends status meetings, provides oral and written reports Creates appropriate test scenarios based on software specification. Designs, creates, executes and maintains automated test scripts. Identify and track changing requirements that result in test case modification. Report software defects according to defect reporting standards Ability to play role of QA Lead, cross functional project QA Test Lead or End-to-end coordination Can be responsible for cross/team Capable of solving complex software products and problems Participates as a member of a Testing Team.; may lead small testing teams. Utilizing the testing methodology, applies specialization to develop a Test Plan for a test level to be executed for a project, as specified in the Testing Strategy for the project. Coordinates and collaborates with others in analyzing collected requirements to ensure the Test Plan and identified testing solutions meet customer needs and expectations. Assists in the preparation of estimates for the performance of the various activities defined in the Test Plan. Designs complex testing scenarios and test cases that will demonstrate conformance to all functional and non-functional requirements, relative to the test level, as defined in business or technical specifications. Reviews and analyzes test results to confirm, establish, and communicate the cause of the discrepancy. Identifies inadequacies and improvement opportunities in the methods/standards and recommends changes. Stays current on established tools, techniques, and technologies. Supports/leads knowledge management and collaboration through participation in testing discussions, communities and improving testing collateral through lessons learned. May assign work to others. Provides time / resource estimates for assigned tasks. May provide time / resource estimates for assigned projects. Education and Experience Required: Typically a technical Bachelors degree or equivalent experience Knowledge and Skills: Varying years of experience in delivering multiple testing services to complex projects (see section 6.1 for specific experience levels). Proficient in testing and development methodologies and their interaction. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to work effectively in a global team.
