QA SQL VB6 Engineer (Jobs in San Diego, CA)   Requirement id 3618 Job title Engineer Job location in San Diego, CA Skills required C#, .Net, QA, SQL VB6 Open Date 06-Apr-2011 Close Date Job type Contract Duration 12 Months Compensation DOE Status requirement --- Job interview type Face to Face interview Apply    Email Recruiter: coolsoft Job Description Engineer: C#, .Net, QA, SQL VB6 [Note:Candidates must be local to southern california (LA, San Diego, ETC) as they MUST come for a face-to-face.] candidates that are very strong with White Box Testing. •Proficient in C#, .NET, SQL, VB, with extensive hands-on programming experience during the past 2 years Sr. WhiteBox QA Engineer • Serves as a subject matter expert for one or more functional areas of our applications, typically of moderate to high complexity. • Mentors and oversees the work of more junior engineers as assigned. • Work with assigned QA Lead to ensure project/maintenance work aligns with long term test strategy as defined by the QA lead • Maps test cases to requirements to ensure complete test coverage. • Identifies test data requirements and generates required test data. • Prioritizes test cases taking into account business priorities, risk, and combinatorial analysis. • Maintains test case management tool for assigned areas of test suite ownership. • Configures test environments as necessary to support test efforts. • Reports software defects and shepherds them through the defect life cycle to closure. • Works with peers in development and other organizations to troubleshoot and resolve project issues both technical and non-technical in nature. • Participates in and occasionally leads process improvement efforts within QA and the larger technology organization. • Reports test progress and quality status to project stakeholders in the form of standardized test execution & defect metrics. • Participates in project release efforts ranging in scope from small to very large. •Architects and designs testing harnesses and ensures these are executed efficiently with a industry standard coding standards and development best practices •Minimum of 8 years of experience in hands-on Whitebox testing with a Bachelors degree in Software Engineering or applicable experience •Proficient in C#, .NET, SQL, VB, with extensive hands-on programming experience during the past 2 years •Proven recent (within past 3 years) experience in designing, implementing and executing multiple test harnesses •Solid experience in creating and executing API-level test suites •Experience using and implementing tools for code and path coverage and assessment of code complexity and other attributes •Intimate experience with Object Oriented best practices in programming and design principles •Broad understanding of multiple technologies, and industry standard development and quality assurance best practices   Call 502-379-4456 Ext 100 for more details.
