Analyze system and software requirements to determine testability, completeness and consistency. Design and implement test strategies and test objectives, test procedures to evaluate the behavior of the software as compared to the specified requirements. Design automated verification tests for medical device software based products. Perform peer reviews of verification test assets test objectives and automated test scripts. Work with development, validation team members to ensure optimal test coverage throughout the development life cycle. Develop new capabilities/tools to support automation. Contribute to software/system risk assessment activities, Use/Design FMEAs activities. Support developing models and simulation artifacts to understand the software/system behavior, performance or technical attributes. Frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques as they relate to Software Testing. Providing solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity. Support regulatory submissions of specifications, test plans, and reports. Works under limited supervision. Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy. Contributes to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects. Specialized Knowledge & Skills: Knowledge of SEIT (Systems Engineering Integration & Test) roles and functions, including requirements management, functional analysis, interface definition, synthesis and verification Extensive technical knowledge of advanced testing concepts and formal firmware and Systems Verification strategies for regulated Software, preferably in the Medical Device Industry. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to positively influence individuals and groups Strong problem solving skills in a team environment Knowledge of both Manual and Automated Testing Tools for Application Software as well as Embedded Systems Understanding of hardware design and trade-offs, embedded (real-time) software tradeoffs, performance and redundancy issues Knowledge of Software Architectures, Software Engineering Best Practices, and programming and scripting languages. Familiar with Agile development methodologies. Understand SW/HW systems and be able to test for the types of failure modes associated with these systems. Experience using configuration management, requirements management, issue tracking systems Experience: BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience) 3+ Years experience in Systems Engineering, Software Development and/or Software V&V Training, technical: Evidence of continuing education in technology improvement, advanced product development tools and processes.
