Description:

The Quality Assurance Specialist Level lll, executes plans, designs and deploys effective test suites. He/she will apply proven analytical and problem-solving skills to help validate, verify, communicate and resolve systems/software application issues through careful testing to ensure that our products are defect-free and conform to specifications. This role will also communicate with our clients and internal stakeholders and may be required to train, instruct and direct offshore resources who are less familiar with our processes and applications.
Core Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Create and execute test scripts, test plans, use cases and scenarios that will determine optimal system/product performance according to specifications
• Conduct various types of application testing such as system, unit, regression, load, and acceptance testing methods
• Collaborate with analysts, designers and system owners in testing new software programs and applications
• Analyze documentation and technical specifications of new applications under deployment or consideration to determine functionality
• Evaluate, plan, design, develop and deploy testing techniques for new applications, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout development/product lifecycles
• Analyze formal test results in order to discover and resolve defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues and interoperability flaws
• Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop testing strategies for improving or leveraging these systems
• Produce defect reports that are easily re-produced and fixed by the other project team members
• Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management
• Collaborate with team members to understand the project at hand and determine resolutions
• Contribute to pre-testing phase of project development by evaluating proposals in order to identify potential problem areas and make appropriate recommendations
• Take an active role in cross-departmental projects when needed
• Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of application-testing best practices
• Participate and facilitate Defect Triage Meetings
• Ensure timely defect tracking and follow-up
• Create and provide input to the QA Test summary/closure report (SSR)
• Provide UAT Support as required.
• Apply proven analytical and problem-solving skills to help validate, verify, communicate and resolve systems/software application issues
• Preparation and review of daily and weekly reports
• Maintains and promotes effective communication and relationship between project teams, business partners and vendors
• Ensure formal test cases conform to the QA departmental standards
• Provide input and feedback about areas of testing success or failure
• Provide daily and weekly testing status reports as requested
• Successful execution / provision of committed deliverables
• Direct the analysis of formal test results in order to discover and report any defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues, and interoperability flaws


Required Skills:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering or equivalent work experience
• 8 -15 years Quality Assurance or computer related experience
• Strong communication skills (both written and oral)
• Solid understanding of the organizations goals and objectives
• Good understanding of Software Development Life Cycle
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Exceptionally self-motivated, directed and detail-oriented
• Good analytical, evaluative and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• On-call availability and periodic overtime
