The individual in this position will be assigned to one or more projects and will work under day-to-day direction of the quality assurance group. The incumbent must maintain effective working relationships with managemnet, co-workers,operational personnel and customers. Communication takes place in person, in writing, and via phone and e-mail. Additional Skill Requirements: This position will perform software quality assurance on a development project using an iterative/Agile development methodology. In the quality assurance role the incumbent is responsible for an objective assessment of software products based on appropriate criteria, real and perceived quality, and conformance to standards and defect discovery, with a view to enabling developers and managers to make good corrective decisions. It requires a broad understanding of web technologies, database applications, distributed architecture, messaging middleware, hardware capabilities, operating systems, and object oriented methodologies, including iterative development methodologies such as the Rational Unified Process (RUP). Those skills include: Strong skills in Quality Assurance methodologies, with experience of large, complex software systems. Highly desirable to have SEI-CMM and ISO9000 experience and/or certification Strong experience in methodology based testing of complex software driven systems, including test plans, test scripts and test reports. System test experience of object-oriented designs is a plus. This project will emphasize Java and web services, however a knowledge of database technologies, preferably MS SQL Server, is a plus. Experience developing test cases using Use Cases and iterative methodologies such as the RUP. Experience with testing web services Ability to analyze requirements, technical designs and assess quality parameters Experience with testing tools and performance test procedures Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with a large group of end users and technical staff. Demonstrated knowledge of documentation standards, and ability to ensure quality documentation. Experience with Rational Team Concert and Anthill Pro is a plus. Familiarity with criminal justice terms and processes is a plus. Desire 7 years of industry experience. PROBLEM SOLVING: The key role of this position is to achieve the QA objectives. Working with the project team, vendors and other employees is very important. Due to restrictions in funding, workloads may be heavy, and expectations are high.
